I would be ashamed to show my face in public if I was a member of the NPP – Mr Beautiful

Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has expressed disappointment over the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The actor expressed concerns about what he sees as the nuclear power plant’s failure to deliver on its promises and adequately support its supporters.

“NDC has built new airports and ports, more schools and more hospitals in four years.

“But what do the NPP supporters have to show for their hard work when you all started supporting President Akufo-Addo and his driver buddy Bawumia for eight years, what do they have to show for that,” onuaonline.com quoted him as saying. in an interview on Onua FM on April 26, 2024.

Mr Beautiful directed his criticism at fellow actors Kalybos and Agya Koo, who were supporters of the NPP.

He suggested that if he were in their shoes, he would be too ashamed to show his face in public because of what he sees as the lack of tangible progress under the nuclear power plant’s tenure.

“If I were Kalybos or Agya Koo, I would cover my head with a scarf because I would feel too ashamed to show my face in public.

“It’s been eight years, what do they have to show for that?” he asked.

He acknowledged the impact his support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had on his career, but affirmed that he would make the same choice again without hesitation or regret.

He said his decision gave others the courage to openly express their political preferences.

Mr Beautiful commended individuals, especially in the Ashanti Region, who have switched their allegiance from the NPP to the NDC.

He argued that given the current state of the Ghanaian economy, they made the right decision.
