Pet parents Raveena, John Abraham, Priyamani and others share wisdom on a ‘pawly’ summer

New Delhi, April 27 (SocialNews.XYZ) The summer season can be brutal not only for people but also for birds and animals.

Bollywood celebrities and pet parents including John Abraham, Raveena Tandon, Priyamani and Jacqueliene Fernandez, among many others, have shared their advice on how to help furry friends during rising temperatures.

Raveena, the dog mom of Lucifer, her adorable Pomeranian, urged people to provide cool and clean water for birds, dogs and cats during the summer season.

The actress told IANS: “Birds and community dogs and cats suffer during summer. I ask everyone to place mud pots filled with cool, clean water outside your home or in places where there are community or working animals. Cheap mud pots will help keep the water cool and not tip over.”

John, an avid animal lover with two furry babies named Sia and Bailey, said rising temperatures can cause dehydration and heatstroke. To help, he sets out water containers.

“Amid rising temperatures, it is critical to help animals avoid heatstroke and dehydration. By taking simple, compassionate actions, we can help our animal friends beat the heat. That’s why my friends and I place bowls of water in gardens and on windowsills, balconies, etc. and terraces,” John told IANS.

The actor emphasized: “It is important to change the water regularly.”

Actress Priyamani, known for her compassion for animals and adopting puppies, gave advice on how to ‘cool down’ cats and dogs.

“Unlike humans, dogs can only sweat through the pads of their feet and cool themselves by panting. High temperatures can cause heat stress and physical injuries – including brain damage – and even death,” Priyamani told IANS.

The actress added: “For pet cats, create a well-ventilated space, with windows lined with protective mesh or mesh, where they can cool off in the house.”

The actress told IANS that she makes sure her “animal companions stay hydrated.”

“It’s also a good idea to feed fruit to birds and animals used for work because it’s a nice, sweet treat that helps hydrate them,” she added.

Sachin Bangera, Director of Celebrity and Public Relations at PETA India, said the emergency helpline has received more than 110 emergency calls in recent days about birds and other animals suffering from heatstroke.

He stressed that he must keep an eye on all animals outside and make sure they have enough water and shelter.
