Popeyes reopens to booming business in Decatur

DECATUR — The wait is finally over for those longing for the reopening of Popeyes Louisiana Chicken in Decatur.

The restaurant at 775 E. Pershing Road, which underwent an extensive renovation, reopened this week to long lines of customers continuing each new day.

Efforts to learn more about the companies and the changes that have taken place have been thwarted by the overwhelming response to customers returning to the restaurant known for its chicken meals.

About Biz: Del Carmen expands to Nelson Park

The restaurant’s opening was long overdue, following its closure in 2020 due to violations of health orders issued by the Macon County Health Department.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
