Two nuns from the Congregation of the Holy Family of Nazareth take their final vows

Sr Cloisall Cardozo and Sr Jovita De Souza of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, popularly known as the Sancoale Sisters, took their final vows at the hands of Sr Berna Rodrigues SFN, General Mother of the Congregation during the Eucharistic celebration. at St Joseph Vaz Shrine, Sancoale.

Archbishop Filipe Neri, Cardinal Ferrao, presided over the Mass celebrated by Father Kenneth Teles, pastor of the Sancoale Church and rector in charge of the St. Joseph Vaz Shrine, Father Lauzario Godinho, pastor of the Quelosim Church and 18 others priests.

During his homily on the theme ‘Witnessing Jesus through Charity’, Cardinal Ferrao appealed to the faithful to witness Jesus in society. “We are not merely accidental disciples of Jesus, but He chose us out of love,” the cardinal said. “Our calling as close followers of God is not a measure of our worthiness, but rather a testament to His love for us,” he added.

Sr Cloisall is from Canacona. Sr. Cloisall responded to God’s call and joined the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Sancoale, on June 15, 2014. After two years of initial training, she entered the novitiate on May 13, 2016 and made her first profession on May 3, 2018.

Sr. Jovita, originally from Quelossim, joined the congregation on October 10, 2013. After completing a two-year novitiate, which she began on May 13, 2016, she made her simple profession on May 3, 2018.
