Tembo Health announces partnership with Springwell Senior Living to provide telemedicine support to residents

Newswise – Tembo Health, a senior-focused telemedicine provider, has announced a partnership with Springwell Senior Living, a 250-resident senior living facility in northwest Baltimore that offers independent living, assisted living and memory care services.

Through the partnership, Tembo Health will offer 24/7 emergency telehealth services, addressing a range of medical needs from minor ailments to emergencies, with the aim of reducing the need for hospital visits. By utilizing telemedicine, Tembo Health aims to improve accessibility to quality healthcare for residents while ensuring seamless coordination with community staff and primary care physicians. Springwell residents will also have access to Tembo’s dementia care services and remote monitoring.

“We are pleased to partner with Tembo Health as our 24/7 telemedicine provider. Their services bring health care into residents’ homes, ensuring timely attention, ease of use and convenience,” said Phil Golden, Executive Director of Springwell Senior Living.

He adds: “Tembo’s communication protocols also keep our nurses and residents’ physicians informed of their findings so they can monitor next steps. This program underscores our commitment to providing our residents with first-class, personalized care, making their health our priority.”

Tembo Health provides 24/7 telemedicine support, including dementia care services, to seniors in healthcare facilities and at home. The company was born from the founder’s own experience navigating the healthcare system alongside his grandfather.

“Managing my grandfather’s care was surprisingly intimidating and time-consuming, and I was someone who had worked in healthcare for many years. We founded Tembo Health to reimagine healthcare for seniors and make getting care easier. We are pleased to provide this service and support to the residents and families of Springwell,” said Anurag Gupta, MD, founder and CEO of Tembo Health.

The Springwell partnership was born from Tembo Health’s participation in 1501 Health, a year-long business incubator that helps healthcare startups grow through investments and resources, including the guidance of a team of advisors. 1501 Health is a partnership between Healthworx and LifeBridge Health, the healthcare system that is also the majority owner of Springwell.

“Tembo’s services and solutions align perfectly with our commitment to improving community health outcomes through the integration of technology and healthcare. This partnership is a testament to the synergy between 1501 Health and Tembo, and marks another milestone in 1501 Health’s mission to drive innovation and deliver new approaches to delivering care to our communities,” said Adam Beck, director of digital health innovation at LifeBridge Health .

Springwell residents will have access to Tembo’s telehealth services starting this summer.
