US Administration Will Not Sanction Idf Battalion

According to the reporter Tom Burridge of ABC news, the US administration “has determined that three IDF military battalions that committed “gross human rights violations” against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, will remain eligible for US military aid regardless because of steps Israel says it’s taking to address the problem.” To white, abcnews.go.com/…

It appears that the State Department caved once PM Netanyahu excoriated the Administration for daring to even consider sanctions on the offending battalions. As usual, the Administration trusts the perpetrators of the offenses to impartially investigate themselves. This is a wonderful way to erode the Leahy Laws and instill confidence in the public that the Executive Branch is effectively implementing the laws prohibiting the transfer of military aid to nations that violate international humanitarian law. In fact, SOS Blinken wrote to House Speaker Johnson that Leahy assessments, “will not delay the delivery of any US assistance and Israel will be able to receive the full amount appropriated by Congress.”
