Even GB News viewers prefer Starmer to Sunak

Oh dear. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is no stranger to bad opinion polls, but a new survey could dig a little deeper into the bone. More than 500 GB News loyalists were surveyed about their political stance ahead of the next general election and the results are now in. Among the channel’s devotees, the most popular party at the moment – by a fairly comfortable lead – is, er, Sir Keir Starmer’s Labor lot. How times change…

In a strange twist of fate, Starmer Chameleon’s side edged out the Tories by eleven points after the ‘don’t know’ were excluded. Nearly four in 10 viewers backed the reds, while Sunak’s boys in blue received support from less than a third of viewers. When pollsters JL Partners analyzed the data, ‘current’ viewers felt slightly more favorably towards the Tories than those counted as ‘recent’ watchers, narrowing the gap between the parties to two percentage points – although Labor still came out on top bus came. The radio enthusiasts also voiced their dissatisfaction with the government’s record on the NHS, crime and – despite the successful passage of the Rwanda bill by parliament – immigration.

Of course, Mr S would be remiss if he didn’t mention that a fair number of the channel’s stars also happen to work as Tory MPs. From Jacob Rees-Mogg to Esther McVey, the presenter-politician hybrids may have hoped that their devotion to viewers would have helped their party’s fortunes – but that was not to be.

Reform UK, led by Richard Tice – who also happens to be a presenter on the channel – came a close third, with a notable 20 percent of viewers supporting the party founded by Nigel Farage. And speaking of Farage, the man himself did quite well in the viewer-led poll. In a vote of confidence for the channel’s star presenter, avid viewers of the programs ranked Farage as their top choice for political leader – above both Starmer and Sunak. Maybe they should take tips…
