Karnataka sees a turnout of nearly 64% till 5 p.m

As polls continued, the state election chief said a case was filed against sitting BJP MP and Bengal South candidate Tejasvi Surya on Thursday for “posting a video in X dealing with and asking for votes on the basis of religion.”

With a total of 28 constituencies, Karnataka will vote in two phases, each covering 14 constituencies. The first half up for grabs on Friday are Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru North, Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru South, Chickballapur and Kolar. Over 2.8 crore eligible voters in these constituencies in Karnataka will cast their votes in the second phase.
