Recall of yogurt products due to presence of foreign substances

New Zealand Food Safety is supporting Epicurean Dairy Ltd in recalling specific batches of The Collective brand, Suckies Strawberry Probiotic Yoghurt, as the product may contain foreign matter (black plastic).

The Collective Suckies Strawberry Probiotic Yogurt brand, sold in a pack of 4 (4 x 100 g) with batch numbers 32280 T2 or 32280 T3, and a best before date of April 30, 2024, is affected by this recall.

The affected product is sold at selected supermarkets and retailers across New Zealand. The product has not been exported.

“If you have any of the affected products in your home, do not use them,” said Vincent Arbuckle, deputy director general of New Zealand Food Safety. “It should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for a refund.”

“If you or a family member have used any of these products and are concerned about your health, please contact your healthcare provider or call Healthline on 0800 611 116.”

The problem came to light following complaints from consumers that the nozzle was broken and that pieces of plastic had ended up in the yogurt.

“As is our usual practice, New Zealand Food Safety will work with Epicurean Dairy Ltd to understand how the problem occurred and prevent it from happening again,” Arbuckle said.

New Zealand Food Safety has not received any reports of related injuries.
