Telangana issues heat wave advisory to public

Hyderabad: Amidst In view of the increasing heat wave alert in Telangana, the Director of Health and Family Welfare has advised the public to take measures to protect themselves from the rising temperatures in the state.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued a crucial advisory to protect the public from the scorching temperatures.

The health director has advised people to stay hydrated, covered, indoors and alert as much as possible.

It has been noted that infants and young children, people who work outside the home, pregnant women, people with mental illness, the physically ill, especially with heart disease or high blood pressure, are more vulnerable to heat waves.

According to an ANI report, a list of do’s and don’ts has been provided to the public. It also stated that the government has made comprehensive arrangements including dedicated beds, IV fluids, essential medicines in all public health facilities and ORS pouches are being made available to auxiliary nurses, licensed social health activists and Anganwadi workers to meet all needs.

Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe heatwave warning for Odisha after Bhubaneshwar recorded the highest temperature of the season at 43.6 degrees Celsius.

Speaking to ANI, Manorama Mohanty, Director, IMD Bhubaneswar, said that the Odisha capital recorded a temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius and 27 cities in the state are witnessing temperatures above 41 degrees Celsius.

“The state has recorded the highest temperature in Bhubaneshwar at 43.6 degrees Celsius. Bhubaneshwar, Boudh and Angul witnessed temperatures above 43 degrees Celsius,” he further said.
