OPEN HEAVEN APRIL 26, 2024 BIBLE READING Matthew 6:9-13
9 Therefore pray this way: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name.

10 Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

OPEN SKY 26 APRIL MESSAGE OF 2024

Yesterday I discussed the importance of full concentration while praying. Today I will continue the discussion on how to pray effectively.

When you pray, keep in mind that prayer is not a one-way conversation, but a dialogue between you and God.

In other words, prayer is not complete if you just talk to God and don’t give Him the opportunity to say something back.

In fact, every time I pray and I don’t get a response from God, I worry because I really want to hear what He has to say.

Even if His answer is a rebuke, at least I know He heard me.

Habakkuk 2:1 says:
I will stand on my watch and set myself on the tower, and will watch to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer when I am rebuked.

You must stay on guard until you hear what God has to say. It is a time not only to pour out all your complaints, but also to hear from Him.

The reason many people don’t hear from God is that they just come to the place of worship and start making requests.

Isaiah 55:6 says to call on Him when He is near. You must first draw near to Him before you call upon Him.

Psalms 100:4 says: Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise; be thankful to Him and bless His name.

The above Scripture means that if you want to draw near to God, if you enter His courts, you must come with praise and thanksgiving.

In our Bible reading for today, Jesus taught the disciples to pray. He began with praise, saying, “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name.”

It is this praise that brings you into His courts and then gives you an audience with Him. Before you pray, praise God first.

During an hour-long prayer session, spend at least 50 minutes praising Him.

After you have sufficiently praised Him and He has come to you, you can be assured that He can hear you and that you will receive answers to your prayers.

OPEN SKY APRIL 26, 2024 HYMN

RCCG HYMN 18: Praise to the Lord Almighty

1. Praise the Lord,
the Almighty, the King of creation!
O my soul, praise Him, for it is He
your health and salvation:
Join the great crowd
psaltery, organ and song
resounding in joyful worship!

2. Praise to the Lord,
over whom he reigns gloriously:
Safely carried as on eagle’s wings
He sustains His saints.
Haven’t you seen it?
How all you’ve needed has been
Granted in what He ordains?

3. Praise the Lord,
who prospers your way and defends you;
Certainly his goodness and mercy
will always assist you;
Think again about what the Almighty can do,
Who befriends you with His love

5. Praise the Lord!
Oh, let all that is in me adore Him!
Join all who have breath
Abraham’s seed to worship Him!
Let the Amen sum up all our praise once more;
Now we worship before Him.
