Admission to the San Antonio Zoo is $8 this weekend for Festival de Animales

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Zoo is offering discounted admission to Bexar County residents for Festival de Animales this weekend.

On Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28, all Bexar County residents can enter the zoo for $8 each.

You can purchase your tickets to the Locals Day Zoo online as long as you have proof of residence in Bexar County, such as an ID or utility bill.

Standard admission gives you access to the zoo’s Festival de Animales.

The Fiesta event celebrates animals, conservation efforts, culture and food native to South and Central America. People can also sip specialty cocktails and enjoy musical performances.

Here is the festival program of events for both days:

  • 10am-11am and 1pm-3pm: Folklórico dancers | Entrance/roaming zoo

  • 10am–1pm: Mariachi | Roaming

  • 10am – 4pm: DJ Mayhem | Large lawn

  • 11am – 1pm and 3pm – 5pm: Hype Squad Dance Parties | Great lawn and Zootenial Plaza

  • 12:00 – 18:00: DJ Fuzion | Zootenial Plaza

Admission to the festivities is free for members.

“Get ready to celebrate Fiesta in a wild way at the San Antonio Zoo’s official Fiesta event, taking place April 27-28,” a media advisory said. “Immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of animals, culture and conservation at Festival de Animales.”

If you can’t make it to the zoo this weekend, more Locals Days are planned for later this year.
