Health autonomy for Sabah urged | Daily Express Malaysia

KOTA BELUD: Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Salleh Mohd Said stressed the need for Sabah to be given autonomy in managing the healthcare sector, following Sarawak’s demands.

Highlighting the issue of shortage of specialists and medical officers in the state, especially at Kota Belud Hospital, Salleh opined that granting autonomy to the state government would enable more effective management of healthcare resources.

He stressed the urgent need for a specialist doctor and additional medical officers to cater to the growing population of Kota Belud.
