Logicalis receives official approval for scientifically based emission targets

Global technology services company Logicalis has announced that its science-driven net-zero emissions targets have been officially adopted and validated by the globally recognized Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This important recognition follows Logicalis’ commitment to the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard by early 2023, the world’s leading model for setting net zero corporate targets in line with climate science. These science-based targets provide a well-defined roadmap for companies looking to reduce their emissions in line with the targets set out in the Paris Agreement.

Over the past two years, Logicalis has accelerated its commitment to responsible business practices through the implementation of accurate and targeted scientific measurements. After a thorough evaluation, the company has now received the highest possible award from the SBTi. The SBTi has verified Logicalis’ Scope 1 and 2 target ambitions as comparable to a 1.5C trajectory. This includes the company’s commitment to halve absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, and to have 85 percent of their suppliers, in terms of spend, adopt science-based targets for the goods and services they produce be purchased by 2028. The long-term target for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions is consistent with the target of reaching net zero by 2050 or even sooner.

Logicalis Global CEO Bob Bailkoski expressed his delight at this achievement, saying: “We are very pleased that our net-zero emissions target has been approved and validated by SBTi. Our goal is to be the best sustainable IT partner for our customers, suppliers and employees. This formal recognition underlines our commitment to reducing carbon emissions globally in line with climate science, something our 7,000 Architects of Change can fully support.”

As part of the company’s commitment to transparency and environmental responsibility, Logicalis has released a comprehensive environmental statement. In this statement, the company announces its baseline CO2 emissions figures and charts a course to achieve its CO2 reduction targets. These include becoming carbon neutral on Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2025 and achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Logicalis’ fervent commitment to sustainability has not gone unnoticed. The company has won multiple awards, including the Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialization in 15 separate global territories, the Sustainability Partner of the Year award at the 2023 Cisco Partner Summit, and is being hailed as the first global partner to adopt Cisco’s Sustainable Campus Access Add- un obtains. By specialization.

Charissa Jaganath, Logicalis’ Head of Corporate Responsibility, commented on this recognition, saying: “We are deeply committed to becoming carbon neutral and have a burning passion for sustainability. It is rewarding to see our efforts recognized by the SBTi. Reducing environmental damage is an urgent, immediate concern and we are committed to maintaining this momentum. At Logicalis, we recognize the critical importance of collaboration and that is why we continue to prioritize working with our partners to ensure that we all contributing to a cleaner, healthier planet.”
