A Mount Clemens victim was among those scammed out of money by an Oakland County builder.

A Walled Lake entrepreneur who took money from customers in metro Detroit and beyond to build garages for them and then failed to complete the job has been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.

During an April 23 sentencing hearing in Oakland County Circuit Court, Judge Cheryl Matthews ordered Artemio “Temo” Sessions – owner of Garages R Us – to serve 40 months to 20 years in prison for repeatedly defrauding homeowners for tens of thousands of dollars. He was sentenced to two days in prison.

Sessions, 56, was convicted at the end of a jury trial in January of false pretense and conducting a criminal enterprise. Matthews sentenced him to 40 to 60 months for the false pretense conviction and to 40 months to 20 years for the criminal enterprise conviction.
