CHICO – Officers used foam projectiles during an arrest of a woman suspected of wielding a knife and approaching cars and homes on the 200 block of West 17th Street, according to a Chico Police Department news release.

According to the report, police received a call Monday around 4 p.m. Responding officers identified the suspect – Alexis Olmstead, 37 – and instructed her to comply with commands. She reportedly refused to comply, so officers used a “less lethal” foam projectile to safely arrest her.

Olmstead was booked into the Butte County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, vandalism and resisting arrest.
