Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau named winner of the Green Destinations Top 100 Award

Park City, UT – This Earth Day, Park City Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau is proud to announce its recognition as a winner of the prestigious Green Destinations Top 100 Story Awards. Park City took third place in the highly competitive Business and Marketing category for its exemplary work with the Green Business Program, which recognizes Park City’s outstanding contributions to sustainability, community engagement and responsible tourism practices.

“The Green Business Program is just one of many ongoing projects outlined in our Sustainable Tourism Plan. With each initiative, we have been proud of the local community’s willingness to work together to embrace these efforts and advance destination stewardship,” said Morgan Mingle, Director of Sustainable Tourism at Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “As we move forward with our long-term plan, we remain committed to actively engaging the community, from hosting lunch and classes to celebrating our extraordinary community members through the Beyond the Frontline series.”

The Green Business Program, originally launched in 2016 by Park City nonprofit Recycle Utah, engaged local businesses to set waste reduction goals. With joint efforts by the Green Business Advisory Committee, consisting of the Park City Municipal Corporation, Summit County, Recycle Utah, Park City Community Foundation and Park City Chamber of Commerce, the program expanded to include energy efficiency, water conservation, materials management and transportation. and community assets. As of June 2023, 65 companies have started the process to join the Green Business Program. In addition, three successful Green Business Lunch & Learns were sold out each time.
