DISA rolls out classified cloud environment to more DoD users – MeriTalk

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) has reached another milestone in its classified cloud efforts by migrating more than 300,000 Department of Defense (DoD) users to the new classified environment, the agency announced April 22 via LinkedIn.

With a recent migration of more than 100,000 users to DoD 365-Secret (DoD365-Sec), more than 300,000 DoD employees have migrated to the classified cloud environment and can now take advantage of the full suite of Microsoft capabilities, including Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams.

DoD365-Sec is the DoD’s classified cloud solution for securely sharing information across operational boundaries, giving warfighters modern tools to get ahead of the adversary and fulfill their mission anytime, anywhere.

DISA began deploying DoD365-Sec in 2023 and initially moved approximately 11,000 users to its classified cloud environment.

“The DoD365 Secret is the latest in DISA’s efforts to modernize the mission network and deliver leading applications, intelligent cloud services and world-class security to the department and the warfighter,” DISA said in a statement press release.

DISA deployed the new cloud environment through the Defense Enterprise Office Solutions (DEOS) blanket purchase agreement to support the implementation of Microsoft’s suite of cloud-based productivity tools called Office 365.

“Bringing communications and cooperation in a classified environment to the Department of Defense has been one of our top priorities. This tremendous achievement of the (Defense Enterprise Office Solutions) program is attributed to the extraordinary talent and tireless efforts of many teams and individuals to modernize the mission for our warfighters,” said Kimberly Lingafelt, DISA Defense Enterprise Office Solutions program manager, in a declaration. .

Earlier this year, the agency announced it had moved 200,000 DoD employees to DoD 365-Sec through the DEOS blanket purchase agreement, which the agency also announced through a LinkedIn message.
