The Final Salute For General Francis Ogolla

Ogolla, the first CDF to die in office since independence, was killed in a plane crash that occurred on Thursday, April 18, 2024 in Sindar Area, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The crash claimed the lives of 9 other officers who accompanied the General in an official tour of a bandit-stricken North Rift region.

On April 28, 2023, President William Ruto appointed Ogolla Kenya’s military boss in accordance with the ‘Tonje Rules,’ a rotational mechanism that governs the selection of the CDF.
