The tragic crash of the KDF helicopter, which killed the Chief of Defense Forces, General Francis Ogolla and nine other KDF soldiers, has left the family of Major George Benson Magondu devastated.

Magondu, a 29-year-old pilot, was among the victims in the Chesugon crash in Elgeyo-Marakwet on April 18.

How Magondu’s family learned of his death

His mother, Mary Wambui, told how they heard about the crash through Magondu’s wife, who is also a captain in the army.

They were told he had suffered serious facial injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Citizen TV, Wambui stated that her son left a big hole.

“The gap is wide because George was a family man. At the age of 29, he behaved like a 40-year-old father. He loved the family, the children and his wife. He could sacrifice all his time and money to support the children. keep Well, said Wambui.
