Who is Nichapat Suphap, stylish Thai showbiz queen? The Venture Management founder represents stars from Vachirawit Chivaaree to Phakphum Romsaithong and was the first attendee of the Thai Met Gala

Riding the wave of Thailand’s entertainment scene, Suphap launched her agency last year to represent a handful of the country’s most popular faces.

She has managed the star power of actors like Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree and Miles Phakphum Romsaithong to bring luxury brands like Dior and Burberry respectively to a whole new Asian audience.

As an agent for the stars, Suphap is a celebrity in her own right. After studying in New York, she worked at department stores Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s as a management trainee, and for brands Roberto Cavalli and Stella McCartney, per Vogue. Later in her career, she also worked as a freelance fashion consultant and brand scout. Her experience in fashion eventually led to contributions to Thai editions of international fashion titles, including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, per WWD.

Through her contributions to various magazines she found her true calling. As a fashion journalist, Suphap was able to attend fashion events and befriend industry insiders and designers along the way.

In 2018, she attended the famous Met Gala hosted by Anna Wintour of American Vogue – a notoriously difficult invitation to score. Moreover, she was the first Thai participant. She continued her look with a colorful and very puffy custom Tomo Koizumi dress — she was the first to wear a custom piece from the brand — at the camp-themed 2019 soiree.

At last year’s Met Gala honoring Karl Lagerfeld, she wore a black and white halterball dress made especially for the event by Louis Vuitton. She was spotted at the party with K-pop star Jennie from Blackpinkamong other guests.

Since then, she has walked the red carpet and sat front row at many parties and fashion shows. Suphap’s style is not one for the tried and tested, but is vibrant and feminine, laced with plenty of drama. At the recent Vanity Fair Oscar Party, she wore a yellow and peach chiffon haute couture dress by Giambattista Valli.

During the past fashion weeks, she has been spotted at the hottest catwalk shows including Dior, Schiaparelli, Elie Saab, Versace, Giambattista Valli and many more, wearing the designers’ latest looks.

Suphap’s love for fashion has also taken her beyond the realm of luxury brands and design. Last December, she attended the White House holiday party to support a group of women who produce Thai silk in a small village.

Dressed in a white strapless cocktail dress and in the presence of President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden, it appears that Suphap’s unofficial status as an ambassador of Thai culture extends far beyond the fashion and entertainment scene.

The editor, consultant and cultural ambassador could soon round out her busy life with another achievement: graduating from Harvard. She recently revealed on Instagram that she has been accepted into the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, which could mark the first step toward fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming a politician. Suphap was accepted on her first try and told her followers that she wasn’t sure if she would be able to take time out of her busy schedule to enroll this year, but she is proud to receive the acceptance letter anyway.
