Prime Minister Modi does not do politics on the basis of religion: Rajnath Singh

Noida: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has never done politics on the basis of religion or by dividing society and emphasized that his predecessor Dr Manmohan Singh had spoken about extending reservation for Muslims in 2006. The Defense Minister made the remarks during an election rally in Greater Noida in support of BJP’s Gautam Buddh Nagar Lok Sabha candidate Mahesh Sharma.

Prime Minister Modi on Sunday suggested that if the Congress comes to power, it would redistribute the wealth of the people among the Muslims and quoted Dr. Singh argued that the minority community had the first claim on the country’s resources.

At a rally in Banswara in Rajasthan, Modi also alleged that the Congress plans to give people’s hard-earned money and valuables to ‘infiltrators’ and ‘those who have more children’.

At a meeting in Bisahda village in Greater Noida, the Defense Minister attacked the Opposition for creating a ruckus and questioning Prime Minister Modi at the time.

“Sisters and brothers, it is not that I know today’s Prime Minister. We have had very good relations for a long time. He has never involved himself in Hindu, Muslim and Christian politics. Our Prime Minister never thought of doing politics by politically dividing society,” Singh said.

“He (Modi) said at one place that Congress has said in its manifesto that we will get the properties surveyed. If it’s in the manifesto, why would people have any objection to it? What do you want to do through the properties examined? Do you want to share the country’s resources equally? he asked.

The veteran BJP leader also asked the Congress to make its stand clear on the issue.

“Dr. Manmohan Singh ji was the Prime Minister of India. I respect Dr. Manmohan Singh ji even today, I respect him, brothers and sisters. Dr. Manmohan Singh himself at the National Defense Council meeting at Vigyan Bhawan on December 9 In 2006, he had said that if anyone has the first right to own this land, it is the minority and he had mainly said that it belongs to the Muslims,” Singh said.
“Sisters and brothers, whatever property and resources there are in this country, everyone should have equal rights. He had said this, we did not say this. When the Prime Minister said this, these people created an uproar about it.” he added.

Singh said the Congress-led government had formed several committees in the past, which had recommended in their report that of the 27 per cent reserved for the OBCs, 6 per cent should be for the Muslims and 2 per cent for the minorities. .

“We did not create this committee,” he added.

Escalating his attack on the Congress, Singh said: “It did not stop there. If a person from the Scheduled Caste converts, he should be given reservation despite the change of religion. Not only this, they (Congress) also ended the reservation of SC-ST in Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University.”

“These people formed the government by dividing the country equally on the basis of Hindus and Muslims,” he alleged.

The senior BJP leader emphasized that his party does not want to make the country by dividing it on the basis of caste, creed, religion, Hindu, Muslim or Christian, but wants to make India a great country of the world by keeping everyone together .

Singh also slammed the opposition parties for their critical comments on the victory of a BJP Lok Sabha candidate in Surat, Gujarat, after he was elected unopposed.

“One of our candidates has won unopposed in Surat, Gujarat, the process of BJP’s victory has begun. But people from Congress and other political parties say this is a threat to democracy. I want to ask this, I want to say to the friends of Congress, I want to say to the people of the other party: Don’t do politics by throwing dust in the eyes of the public, do politics by throwing dust in the eyes of the public watch if you have the courage,” says Singh. said.

“You also had your governments. Often the parliamentarians were elected unopposed. If your MP wins unopposed, democracy becomes stronger and if one of our MPs wins, democracy becomes weaker,” he added.

The BJP leader recalled that Samajwadi Party leader Dimple Yadav had won unopposed in the 2012 by-election in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh.
