Annastacia Palaszczuk signs with top agent Max Markson as her post-political career takes shape

Annastacia Palaszczuk has hired a colorful celebrity publicist as she embarks on her post-political career.

The former Queensland premier is on the books of PR king Max Markson, who has organized speaking tours for world leaders and international celebrities including Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela and Mike Tyson.

“I am pleased to be working with Max given his wealth of experience,” said Ms Palaszczuk.

It is understood Mr Markson will be primarily tasked with setting up speaking engagements for Ms Palaszczuk across Australia and internationally, in addition to a possible book deal.

Ms Palaszczuk announced her shock resignation in December after eight years in the top job, claiming she felt like she had “run a marathon”.

‘I don’t have a job in January. I will end up as (an MP),” Ms Palaszczuk said at the time.

“I will promote Queensland in some form or capacity.”

Mrs Palaszczuk’s tendency to appear at celebrity events and award shows led to her critics calling her a “part-time prime minister.”

Mr Markson, who starred in Celebrity Apprentice in 2011, said Ms Palaszczuk had joined his firm Markson Sparks for “live speaking engagements across Australia and internationally”.

“I am honored to represent Annastacia Palaszczuk, who has extraordinary, fascinating stories to tell,” said Markson.

“Her political journey includes becoming the first woman to lead a seven-member opposition, before becoming Premier of Queensland and hosting Australia’s first majority female cabinet before winning three state elections.”

“Annastacia’s behind-the-scenes leadership during the pandemic with Prime Ministers Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese has been electric, not to mention the negotiations relating to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.”

Markson Sparks has raised millions of dollars for the Labor Party in the past.
