Report: Celebrities: Enstarz

Barron Trump may not follow in the footsteps of his father, Donald Trump, and his half-siblings when it comes to his college choice.

The 18-year-old will soon be heading off to college, and The Daily Beast, citing unnamed sources, reported that Barron’s first choice is New York University (NYU).

According to the outlet, the Trump camp declined to comment on Barron’s reported college plans.

However, Barron should decide quickly where he will attend college as the deadline to commit is just a few weeks away.

If Barron chooses to attend NYU, he would be breaking an unofficial Trump family tradition.

His father, Donald, and three of his half-siblings, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Tiffany Trump, all graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Eric Trump, a finance and management graduate from Georgetown University, is so far the only one of the former president’s children who did not attend an Ivy League school.

For her part, Barron’s mother, Melania Trump, studied design and architecture at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, but dropped out to pursue a career in modeling.

During an interview with Megyn Kelly last year, Donald described his youngest son as a “very good student” and said the family was already discussing Barron’s college plans.

“Barron is a very good athlete. He’s very tall… about 6 feet 4 inches. And he’s a good kid. He’s good looking. He’s actually a great student, a very good student,” the presidential GOP 2024 election. candidate said.

When asked if the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School was one of Barron’s options for college, Trump told Kelly the family was “looking at it” as a possibility.

Although Melania has not commented publicly on her son’s future, People reported last month that the former first lady had prioritized helping Barron look at colleges while staying away from the campaign trail.

An unnamed insider told the outlet that Melania may choose to “follow” Barron wherever he goes to school because she considers caring for him her “most important job.”

“Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all these years,” the source said.

Barron currently attends Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida, and will graduate next month with the class of 2024.

The teen’s upcoming graduation recently drew attention after his father repeatedly complained publicly about potentially missing the event.

As Trump’s hush money trial began Monday in New York City, his lawyers asked the judge if the ex-president could skip the May 17 trial to attend Barron’s high school graduation in Florida.

However, the judge postponed the decision to a later date, saying it would depend on whether the trial went according to schedule.

Speaking to reporters outside the courtroom on Monday, Trump sarcastically thanked the judge for “not being able to go to (his) son’s graduation,” though no decision has yet been made.

Trump also later turned to Truth Social to claim that he and Barron have been “talking about” his high school graduation for years, implying that it would be a blow to his youngest if his father missed the event.
