Woman killed in collision in Pomona, second pedestrian fatality in area in two days – Daily Bulletin

A female pedestrian was fatally struck in a collision in Pomona on Monday evening, marking the second pedestrian fatality in the area in two days.

Police were called Monday around 8:43 p.m. and found the victim seriously injured in the roadway of North Towne Avenue, near the intersection with East Monterey Avenue. The woman, whose identity has not been released, was hospitalized and later died from her injuries, according to a statement from Pomona police.

The driver and vehicle involved in the fatal collision fled the scene and could not immediately be located.

On the morning of Sunday, April 21, a man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver at South Towne Avenue and East Ninth Street, less than a mile after the second collision. The driver also took off, police said in a statement.
