Kevin Stefanski, family launch of the Keepers Foundation to help area children

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski and his family have launched a new foundation with designs to help underprivileged children in Northeast Ohio, the Keepers Foundation.

The name was chosen as a collaboration between Stefanski, his wife Michelle and their three children.

“Everyone knows that Bible verse about being your brother’s keeper, and what does that even mean? It means you have to look out for someone else,” Stefanski said in a statement released by the team. “And that is ultimately what we are trying to do with this foundation: look out for the people who need us most. And those are the children in our communities who are underprivileged, and ultimately that’s what we’re trying to do.”

The foundation’s first event, Under the lights with coach Stefanski and friends, will be a flag football tournament held June 6 at Cleveland Browns Stadium. A week later, on June 13, it will be followed by a second event called Night out at the lake with coach Stefanski and friends, which will be a fundraiser held as a night out in Cleveland with an auction to raise money for the foundation.

“We just felt like there was an opportunity here to host some events, get some people together, raise some money and ultimately use our platform to help some of the kids in our communities who really need it,” Stefanski said.
