A South Windsor man has been arrested on multiple charges, including theft and threatening to bomb an animal shelter

SOUTH WINDSOR – A local man was arrested Monday on multiple charges, including car theft and making bomb threats, according to South Windsor police.

Joshua A. Sage, 41, of Windsor, was taken into custody on three active warrants.

Police say Sage was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stolen from Courtesy Auto at 1265 John Fitch Boulevard in early March.

The car was significantly damaged during the theft.

Authorities also found a crack pipe in the vehicle and Sage was driving with a suspended driver’s license and an incorrect license plate number.

In a separate incident later in March, Sage allegedly threatened to detonate an explosive at the Tyler Regional Animal Care Shelter and made physical threats against a city employee.

The altercation reportedly stemmed from Sage’s dog being quarantined after biting an officer during the earlier carjacking incident.

Sage was processed and held on a $10,000 bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court at 9 a.m. today. If released on bail, he will appear in Norwich Superior Court on May 9 for a failure to appear order.

South Windsor Police are urging anyone with more information to contact their office or Cleverdon directly.
