‘Bluey’ just broke a HUGE record!

Almost six years ago, ABC Kids – a children’s channel in Australia – released a brand new show from Ludo Studio, Bluish. Bluish told the story of an Australian Blue Heeler dog named Bluey and her family: her father, Bandit, her mother, Chilli, and her younger sister, Bingo. Bluey and her family use their imaginations in fun ways and experience countless adventures as a family. The show was an absolute hit in less than five years Bluish was one of the most popular shows in the world.

In 2019, The Walt Disney Company obtained the exclusive broadcast rights Bluish on Disney Junior and on Disney+ when it launched in November 2020.

On April 14, Disney+ released a special episode of Bluish that took almost half an hour! The average episode of Bluish typically only lasts about nine minutes. The episode called The sign, in which Bluey and her family consider moving so her father could take a new job. Fans had hinted at the prospect of a Bluey move months ago.

“The Sign” wasn’t just the longest episode of Bluish but also the most viewed episode ever!

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

With a running time of 28 minutes (about three times the length of a typical episode), the 10.4 million views for “The Sign” translate to approximately 291.2 million viewing minutes worldwide. In the United States alone, Bluey’s entire 150-episode library averages 1.19 billion minutes watched per week, according to Nielsen ratings – just under 8 million minutes per episode.

This episode of Bluish not only breaking the show’s own viewing record, but also breaking the viewing record of every Disney Junior show ever watched on Disney+! Bluey and the rest of the Heeler family are unstoppable!

With the premiere of The signand the previous episode, Ghost basketmany fans were concerned that the show was coming to an end. But Disney and Ludo Studio allayed those fears with the release of a new episode, titled Surprise.

To the relief of Bluish fans around the world, producer Sam Moore confirmed that a fourth season is on the way. Moore said this was “not the end” for Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli. He also promised that more surprises were on the way.

One of the things that makes that Bluish So popular is the ability to discuss adult topics in a way that children can understand. In its three seasons, Bluish has discussed topics such as death, infertility and even miscarriages. However, the show received a lot of backlash when it seemed to have an episode that shamed the characters.

All three seasons of Bluish are currently available to stream on Disney+. This includes The plate, Ghost Basket, And Surprise.
