‘Crime to hear Hanuman Chalisa’: PM Modi takes on Karnataka government in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi at an election rally in Rajasthan has hit out at the Karnataka government over the incident where a shopkeeper was brutally beaten for playing Hanuman Chalisa in his shop.

He also reiterated that the Congress manifesto promised redistribution of wealth among the ‘infiltrators’. Prime Minister Modi added that after his speech: “The Congress ko mirchi lag gayi” (sarcastic way of saying they were offended).

Accused of finding it difficult to follow one’s faith under Congress rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at a public meeting in Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, “Even listening to Hanuman Chalisa is becoming a crime under Congress rule. Rajasthan has suffered… For the first time on Ram Navami, this time the Shobha Yatra procession was performed in Rajasthan. In a state like Rajasthan, where people chant Ram-Ram, Congress has banned Ram Navami.”

His comments come on a day when the country celebrates Hanuman Jayanti.

Referring to the comments on ‘wealth redistribution’ he made at a rally in Banswara in Rajasthan on Sunday, the Prime Minister said the Congress and the INDI Alliance have become so angry that they have started ‘abusing’ Modi everywhere. It is the truth for the country that Congress is hatching a deep conspiracy to take your wealth and distribute it among the ‘selected’ people,” he said at a rally in Tonk.

“Two-three days ago, I exposed this vote bank policy of Congress as appeasement politics; This has made Congress and its INDI Alliance so angry that they have started abusing Modi everywhere,” he said, wondering “why Congress is afraid of the truth and hiding its policies”. “It says in their manifesto that they will investigate the wealth. Their leader had said in a speech that the wealth would be x-rayed,” he said, adding, “When Modi revealed the secret, your hidden agenda came out and you are shaking.”
