The SGBs called for help creating a safer school environment

Limpopo teachers unions have expressed concern over ongoing bullying and violent incidents in the province’s schools, warning that they could escalate into a pandemic.

The provincial education department today held an SGB inauguration ceremony in Seshego, outside Polokwane, where various education stakeholders, including trade unions SADTU and PEU, outlined their expectations for the new members.

SGB ​​elections were held in all public schools from March 1 to 31, 2024, with elected members expected to serve a three-year term.

The newly elected school board members have been urged to help address the challenges schools face and help create a safe school environment for both teachers and students.
