Labcorp completes acquisition of Baystate outreach laboratory companies in Providence

In two separate deals, Labcorp completed the acquisition of outreach laboratory companies from Renton, Washington-based Providence and Springfield, Massachusetts-based Baystate Health.

Labcorp has acquired select assets of Providence’s laboratory operations operated by the medical group in California, including outpatient laboratory collection stations, outpatient laboratory facilities and other equipment, according to an April 23 press release from the company.

Once fully integrated, providers and patients in Northern California and Orange County who previously received laboratory service from Providence will have access to Labcorp’s clinical laboratory services, data and digital tools, according to the release.

Labcorp also completed the acquisition of Baystate Health’s outreach laboratory operations and select assets, including laboratory service centers previously operated by Baystate Health throughout Massachusetts, according to an April 22 press release from the company.

The company has also established a regional laboratory at Baystate Health’s facility in Holyoke, Massachusetts, where Baystate will continue to provide professional support for anatomic pathology and perform specialty testing in the existing laboratory, the press release said.
