6 easy ways to get into the shade this winter

As autumn approaches, why not embrace the golden hue of the season to brighten your mood? The sunny shade of yellow has been making the rounds over the past year, finding its way into covetable collections and earning its place as a fashion trend to watch. Luxury fashion house Bottega Veneta calls itself one of the shades’ biggest fans, with several industry pioneers praising the brand for making yellow ‘cool again’.

We can’t say we disagree. A color that both inherently improves our mood and has been given the sartorial seal of approval is guaranteed to grab our attention. While we won’t lie, yellow may seem like a tricky color to tackle at first – especially for those of us who normally stay away from bold colorways. Surprisingly, though, yellow isn’t as challenging to incorporate into your wardrobe as you might think.

Here we share our selection of the most popular pieces, alternating to follow the ‘yellow fashion trend’ this winter.

As with most bold shades, if you’re not quite ready for a completely monochromatic look, it’s best to pair your yellow pieces with a base color or material that you’re comfortable wearing. Opting for a darker shade of gray is not only suitable for the weather, but also accentuates the golden hue of your yellow pieces; rather than washing out the shadow like a lightly washed base shade would. Combine with gold jewelry and a touch of olive green for an understated look.

This Dion Lee co-ord set is egg yolk yellow and uncompromisingly flattering with its ribbed texture.
