Christensen Farms celebrates 50 years with 2023 sustainability report

Christensen Farms, one of the largest family-owned pork producers in the United States, is proud to announce the release of its 2023 Sustainability Report in celebration of Earth Day. This year’s report is especially important as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of the company’s founding, celebrating half a century of innovation and commitment to sustainable agriculture.

“As we reflect on 50 years of growth and leadership in sustainable pork production, we are inspired by the past and excited about the future,” said Glenn Stolt, CEO of Christensen Farms. “This report not only highlights our achievements, but also reinforces our commitment to setting new standards for our industry.”

In line with the company’s LEGUP 2030 strategic plan, the 2023 Sustainability Report outlines ongoing initiatives and progress across key sustainability pillars: People, Pigs, Planet and Prosperity. It demonstrates notable achievements in employee development, animal welfare improvements, proactive environmental management and robust community involvement, all of which underscore the company’s commitment to ethical and responsible business practices throughout its operations.

“As we commemorate our 50th anniversary on Earth Day, we recall our fundamental 4Ps: People, Pigs, Planet and Prosperity,” said Stolt. “We have and will continue to recognize our responsibility as stewards of the planet. This year’s sustainability report not only highlights our progress, but also reinforces our continued commitment to these principles in everything we do.”

The report highlights Christensen Farms’ transparent approach to sustainability and its leadership in advancing practices that holistically benefit people, pigs and the planet. The company invites all stakeholders, including customers, partners and the community, to explore the report and join its journey towards a more sustainable future.
