LEGO Fortnite teases new animal features and farming in upcoming update

Players may be able to raise wild animals and delve deeper into farming in the next update, based on recent excerpts from the official LEGO Fortnite X account.

LEGO Fortnite shared a short clip in a X message teasing what players can expect in the game’s next update. From the looks of it, local animals can quickly take an interest in someone’s village, causing a villager to wonder if he or she wants to live with the player.

This could mean that players will finally be able to befriend animals and live with them in their base, potentially expanding the farming aspect of the game.

At the time of writing this, the game allows you to pet animals and in return they will drop something useful for you. But it’s not possible to keep them inside your base as they just wander around and even disappear when you leave.

If the leaks are true, it is likely that we will get new animals in the near future, such as bears, frogs, beetles and many more.

Additionally, another recent leak, posted by noted leaker iFireMonkey, mentions a new consumable “Animal Cookies” will become available to tame creatures.

While these are all leaks that have yet to be confirmed, so take the information with a grain of salt.

Besides animals, a separate post from the LEGO Fortnite X account uploaded a clip with another teaser showing the speed build-up of a stable.

The completed structure has crops nearby and a water trough, which suggests that you will likely need to care for the animals if they live in your base.

Fortnite’s v29.30 update is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2024, and only time will tell what new features the game mode has in store for players.
