The British Parliament passes the deportation law for illegal immigrants to Rwanda

The British Parliament has passed the ‘Rwanda Bill’, which aims to deport illegal immigrants who enter Britain illegally. Under this bill, immigrants who enter Britain illegally will be transferred to Rwanda.

According to the Associated Press, the proposal was approved by the British Parliament on Monday after seven months of debate.

Under this legislation, the government will send asylum seekers entering Britain to Rwanda to make their asylum claims, based on a five-year plan.

This plan was proposed by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who previously stated that the first group of migrants would be transferred by plane to Rwanda within 10 to 12 weeks.

The British government believes that after the introduction of this bill, migrants will not be able to enter the country illegally via the English Channel on small boats.

According to statistics, 29,437 people crossed the English Channel in 2023, a decrease of 36% from the previous year.

It is worth noting that after their asylum claims were rejected by Britain, no asylum seekers can enter this country and must send residence applications from Rwanda to other countries.
