The Energy Systems Luminary Award for Major Thought Leadership Contributions is presented to University of Manitoba Faculty of Environment Distinguished Professor Emeritus Vaclav Smil in recognition of his significant contributions to advancing energy literacy. Professor Smil’s achievements in effectively bridging the gap between complex energy concepts and public understanding have led to a better informed and more aware modern global energy society.
