Patti Smith thanks Taylor Swift for mentioning the song

As the biggest pop star in the world right now, it’s safe to say that most people would be surprised if they met or simply saw Taylor Swift in person. And while that may be true, the singer herself has some idols that would leave her speechless.

Among them is singer, poet and artist Patti Smith, who Swift mentions in her new album The department of tortured poets. In the album’s title song, Swift sings, “I laughed at you and said / ‘You’re not Dylan Thomas / I’m not Patti Smith / This ain’t the Chelsea Hotel / We’re modern idiots.'”

Following Swift’s record-breaking release, Smith took to social media to show her appreciation. “By this I mean I was touched to be mentioned in the company of the great Welsh poet Dylan Thomas,” Smith wrote on Instagram alongside two black and white photos of her reading one of Thomas’ books. “Thanks, Taylor.”

Unfortunately for fans, comments on the post, which has reached more than 100,000 likes, have been disabled. That way, Swift can’t even respond to the message of support.

But while Smith was mentioned in a good light by the “Love Story” singer, Swift spared no expense in shading other celebrities on the new album, like ex Joe Alwyn and Kim Kardashian.

For example, in the song “thanK you aIMee,” Swift tells the story of a bully that fans are convinced is about the founder of SKIMS. In addition to the capitalization of the name “Kim” in the title, fans found many Easter eggs aimed at Kardashian, including a telling text. “I changed your name and all the real defining clues,” she sings. “And one day your child comes home and sings a song that only the two of us know is about you.”

However, following the diss, sources report that Kardashian is brushing off this long-standing feud. “Kim probably regrets lying about the editing of the now-famous video, but it’s fair to say she was wrapped up in the whole Kanye (West) aspect of it,” a source shared. Life and style.

“She was basically protecting her husband,” the source continued about the origins of the feud. “I’m sure Kim can clarify what really happened and why she did what she did, but I don’t think she wants to revisit that specific situation,” they said. “It would just open up a whole new can of worms and she’s really moved on.”

So while some may be negative and some may be positive, the many reactions to Swift’s new album are finally in full swing!
