DoST encourages Filipinos to experience science and technology on air

FOR every problem, science has a solution, and the official broadcast platform of the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) “DoSTv: Science for the People” brings these scientific solutions and opportunities on air and on site.

Under DoST’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) can get new and advanced technologies, equipment upgrades, technical training and advisory services to help them support, boost and grow their small businesses.

Various projects, programs, products and services of DoST are now discussed point by point and in detail through DoSTv’s latest public radio program “Radyo Siyensya: Sa DoST, konektado ka!” on Radyo Pilipinas every Saturday at 2:00 PM starting April 20, 2024.

Through Radyo Siyensya’s phone patch and sit-down interview segments, the audience can connect directly to DoST to ask questions about the products and services answered by none other than DoST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr., who co-hosts the program leads. Onin Miranda.

Miranda provides timely updates on DoST’s programs and services, from research funding, startup grants, fellowships to business support and more.

In addition, the program also highlights Solidum’s views on pressing socio-economic issues, as well as its commentary on the way DoST is scientifically tackling the problem.

The pilot episode anchored the discussion on wealth creation, one of the key pillars underpinning most DoST programs. Lectures were given on job creation, technological interventions and regional development through science, technology and innovation.

Through the weekly one-hour radio program, the entire DoST system is one in its mission to bring the benefits of science, technology and innovation with the slogan #OneDoST4U.
