Prime Minister Narendra Modi has leveled a major accusation against the Congress party, alleging that they were trying to divide the budget along religious lines. Prime Minister Modi clarified that his actions were aimed at exposing what he sees as the Congress’s divisive strategies, rather than engaging in polarizing rhetoric himself.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a big claim when he accused the Congress party of dividing the budget on the basis of religion. Prime Minister Modi accused Manmohan Singh’s government of wanting to spend 15% of the budget on Muslims but resisting this due to opposition from the BJP.

“At the time, Congress wanted 15 percent of the country’s entire budget to be spent exclusively on Muslims.”Congress us samay chahti thi ki desh ke saare Budget ka pandrah pratishat sirf Musalmano par kharch ho)Modi said, stressing that the Manmohan Singh-led government had to abandon the plan due to stiff opposition from him in his capacity as chief minister of Gujarat and the BJP.

“But now they are keen to implement all these old agendas,” he said at a meeting in Pimpalgaon Baswant.

“If Congress is elected, it will create two budgets based on religion. I will not allow the budget to be divided into ‘Hindu budget‘ And ‘Islamic budget“, and I will not allow quotas based on religion,” he affirmed in Kalyan at another meeting.

Prime Minister Modi pointed out that his actions were merely aimed at exposing the Congress’s divisive tactics, rather than indulging in polarizing rhetoric himself.

“I am accused by their (Congress) ecosystem of raising Hindu-Muslim issues, but it is the Congress that is creating division,” he alleged.

‘Shouldn’t I reveal their intentions? Should I worry about my image and keep quiet? I will not allow my country to be divided in such a way. Aren’t we all Indians?’ he asked.

“They had to form a nation on the basis of religion and they did that. The Congress was helpless and obeyed. Now they talk about ‘Hindu Budget’ and ‘Muslim Budget’. Can a country have separate budgets for Hindus and Muslims?” Modi thought.

Modi pointed out that Congress had approved allocation of resources on the basis of religion and had even urged state governments to allocate 15 percent of their budgets exclusively to members of minority communities.

“You can imagine how dangerous the idea of dividing the budget this way is. And you know, for the Congress, there is only one minority – their beloved vote bank,” Modi noted.
