Tel Aviv: The head of Israel’s military intelligence, Major General Aharon Haleiwa, has resigned after admitting he failed to stop the attack by the powerful Palestinian resistance group Hamas.

According to foreign media, Aharon Haleiwa accepted responsibility for the failure to stop Hamas’ attack on October 7. He is the highest-ranking figure to resign after the October 7 attack.

An Israeli army spokesman said the Israeli army chief had accepted the resignation of the head of military intelligence and thanked him for his services.

According to foreign media reports, the resignation of the head of Israel’s military intelligence will pave the way for other military officers to admit that they failed to stop Hamas’ attack.
