Filipino fusion restaurant Tins & Fins is launched in Margate

Tins & Fins sees the group – which operates @Hoxton 100, Rapsa Play and Archway in London and The Rambling Pig in Surrey – team up with Pete Clucas of Camden’s Lost Souls Pizza and True Romance and will be based at the Selina Hotel.

The menu has been created by chef Frances Puyat (pictured centre), whose CV includes Yotam Ottolenghi’s NOPI restaurant in Soho.

Dishes include sea bream with papaya, coconut milk and kalamansi ponzu; tuna tartare with cucumber, roasted peach and lobster crackers; oysters with ginger and jalapeño salsa; and rib eye with candied red onion butter, lemon juice, soy and Don Papa pepper sauce.

The restaurant also offers ‘inihaw’ (skewers) with options such as shrimp, rib eye, chicken thigh and pork, served with pickled salad and homemade dips.

“Pete and I are so excited to be working together on this new venture; Having previously enjoyed success together at Lost Souls Pizza, 100 Hoxton and old-school hotspot Ziloufs, we are ready to go again,” says RAPSA owner and manager Andrew Zilouf.

“Margate is becoming a mecca for innovative food and good times, and that is exactly what we are bringing to the city with Tins & Fins.”

Clucas added: “It is super exciting to join so many of my industry peers at sea. There is a strong sense of community and a wicked atmosphere in Margate, which fits well with the relaxed style of hospitality we are bringing to the area with Tins & Fins.”

Tins & Fins replaces HOWM, which was managed by the hotel.
