In Manipur, 37.54% vote till 11am, amid re-elections at select stations

Good afternoon readers! Re-elections began this morning at eleven polling stations in Manipur. This comes after Manipur’s chief electoral officer on Saturday announced that re-elections in 11 polling stations in the Inner Manipur Lok Sabha constituency will be held on April 22. The decision followed a directive from the Election Commission to declare the elections at these polling stations in April 19 as null and void and schedule fresh polls. The affected polling stations are Moirangkampu Sajeb and Thongam Leikai in Khurai constituency, four in Kshetrigao and one in Thongju in Imphal East district and three in Uripok and one in Konthoujam in Imphal West district, the official said. Delhi HC dismisses PIL seeking direction to grant extraordinary interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal

The Delhi High Court today dismissed a PIL seeking grant of extraordinary anticipatory bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in all criminal cases.

The court dismissed the petition and imposed a sum of Rs 75,000 on the petitioner. The bench headed by the Acting Chief Justice of Delhi while passing the order said: This court cannot grant extraordinary anticipatory bail in a pending criminal case filed against a person holding high office.

The court states that a person is in custody pursuant to a court order. The challenge is currently before the Supreme Court. He takes steps and uses remedies. The law is the same for everyone.
