Up to 300 healthcare talent attended Hospital Authority’s recruitment events across the UK

Hospital Authority representatives took part in recruitment events in London and Manchester over the past two days, with the events attracting around 300 medical students and doctors to attend in person or online.

The events were organized by the SAR Government to promote to overseas healthcare talent the latest opportunities for working in Hong Kong, registration schemes and the development of specialist training.

The delegation included representatives from the Hospital Authority, the two medical schools in Hong Kong and the Ministry of Health. The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London and the Hong Kong Medical Society of the UK collaborated on the events.

Tony Ko Pat-sing, chief executive of the Hospital Authority, said the events in London and Machester received an overwhelming response, and he was pleased to have the opportunity to meet medical students and doctors there in person and online to discuss the latest situation to introduce the public. healthcare system in Hong Kong.

“We exchanged views on the working environment, compensation packages, career prospects of working in the public healthcare sector in Hong Kong and the benefits of developing healthcare services. The participants were enthusiastic and said they would seriously consider returning to serve patients in Hong Kong,” Ko said.

He said the response to this recruitment event in Britain was very satisfactory and the Hospital Authority is confident of recruiting many suitable, non-locally trained doctors to join to serve patients.
