The president of ShelterBox USA says Earth Day is every day

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – A global humanitarian aid organization headquartered in Santa Barbara celebrates Earth Day every day.

“Environmental sustainability is embedded in everything we do at ShelterBox and I think Earth Day is for ShelterBox because we want to do no harm to the communities we serve, who have already lost so much to disasters,” said Kerri Murray, president of ShelterBox. “So at ShelterBox we have been working for years to improve our sustainability, from reducing single-use plastics in the consumables we carry to sourcing and manufacturing items locally in the countries where we work.”

Murray said this will help stimulate the economy and reduce air travel.

ShelterBox is working to reduce its footprint.

She said they continue to learn and get better.
