Vini Raman: Glenn Maxwell is currently on top of the world. He was one of Australia’s main heroes in the ODI World Cup 2023. He may not have the best IPL 2024 so far, but he can turn all that around.

Many Indian fans who were sad and frustrated after the Indian team’s loss lashed out at Glenn Maxwell’s wife Vini Raman. That was because Vini is actually of Indian descent, but supported Australia because she was born there and her husband plays in that country.

There was nothing wrong with Vini supporting Australia and her classy response to all the hateful messages won the hearts of many Indians.

Who is Vini Raman?

Vini is a pharmacist by profession and has her roots in South India. Her parents migrated from India to Melbourne, where she was born in 1993. Maxwell and Vini’s love story is quite adorable.

The couple first met at a Melbourne Stars event in 2013 and from then on a special bond was formed. Both kept the relationship under wraps until 2017, when Vini first posted a photo with Maxwell.

The couple got engaged in 2022 after the Australian Cricket Awards. Maxwell wanted to propose to Vini on the beach, but circumstances forced him to do so in a public park in front of many onlookers.

Hate after the World Cup!

After Australia’s victory in the ODI World Cup, Vini received a lot of unnecessary hate. All this was inappropriate and Vini responded with a post on Instagram.

The message read: “…aaaaand cue all the hateful, mean DMs. Stay elegant. I can’t believe this needs to be said BUT you can be Indian and also support the country of your birth where you grew up and more importantly the team your husband and the father of your child play in #nobrainer. Take a chill pill and focus that outrage on more important world problems.”
