Setlist + video – Slayer’s Kerry King plays his first solo show

Slayer’s Kerry King played his first ever solo show on May 7, 2024 at Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago, Illinois. Watch the fan-made video and full setlist below.

Kerry King, flanked by singer Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), guitarist Phil Demmel (ex-Vio-Lence, ex-Machine Head), bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah) and drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), tore through 17 songs. The set was divided into 11 new solo cuts From hell I rise and six Slayer covers.

Kerry King’s new album From hell I rise

Kerry King’s debut solo album, From hell I risewill be released on May 17.

“If you’ve ever loved a Slayer in any part of our history, there’s something on this record that will resonate with you, whether it’s classic punk, fast punk, thrash or just plain heavy metal,” King said at the time. the record was first announced. “Even with a record in the can, I still have so many songs that need to be finished. This is what I know how to do… number one is music, number two is metal I’ve been a part of my life for forty years, and I’m not done yet.”

The album contains 13 songs, 11 of which were played last night (May 7).

Kerry King on tour

King and his band return to the stage at the Welcome to Rockville Festival in Florida on May 9. At other festivals this year, Slayer have reappeared later this year for a trio of headlining sets, their first since their global farewell tour that ended in 2019.

In addition to festival appearances, King Will will also hit the road to support Lamb of God and Mastodon on their co-headlining tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of Ashes of the Wake And Leviathan.
