A financial services provider establishes itself in Ignite

Sheril and Matt Wilson opened their Primerica-Financial Services business in the Ignite Incubation Center at 57 E. Chestnut St. in Washington.

A Peters Township man is bringing his financial services to downtown Washington.

Matthew Glenn Wilson: Primerica-Financial Services has been operating at the Ignite Business Incubator at 57 E. Chestnut St. with his wife, Sheril, for about three weeks. A ribbon cutting for the new business is scheduled for April 29 at 10 a.m.

“I needed a place I could take customers,” Wilson said. “They have made it so easy here. They have office space and a meeting room available. I’m going to use it as a beacon of light in Washington to bring financial literacy to the community. For me, this is an excellent place to come together and use as a launching pad for service to Washington County.”

Primerica is a company that provides insurance, investments and financial services to middle-income families.

“We’re educating mainstream America about how money works,” Wilson said. “I have put together a supplemental financial wellness plan (plan) for individuals and families to help them navigate through life so that people can have a respectable retirement.”

Wilson wanted to focus on Washington County when he opened his own business. He has been active in the financial services industry for approximately 10 years.

“There is a great need,” Wilson said. ‘People go to school to get good grades so they can go to work for someone, but what they don’t learn is what to do with that salary every week. That’s where I come into the picture. I have many partners who can offer people a tailor-made solution.”

Wilson was drawn to Ignite because of the company, especially the work the incubator does with local entrepreneurs. Ignite connects, supports, educates and empowers entrepreneurs and small businesses by offering services such as consultancy, advice or networking.

“My job is to provide people with financial wellness, but also to give people a part-time opportunity or an opportunity for someone who might want to make a career change,” Wilson said. “I license people. Basically we sponsor people to get all their licenses.”

“I would like to stay here and have a lot of people work with me and call this my home,” Wilson said.
