When is Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024? Start date and end time confirmed

As you might expect, fans are already preparing for the return of the ecology-themed event.

In addition to a new Pokémon, there were also Timed Research events to keep players busy, plus more frequent appearances from creatures like Squirtle, Foongus and Wailmer to help people expand their collections.

It’s been a busy period for Pokémon Go, with a major update recently bringing significant changes to the game’s avatars.

Fan feedback has been overwhelmingly negative, and many may pin their hopes on the success of Sustainability Week 2024 to remedy their disappointment with the latest overhaul.

And so, without further ado, let’s take a look at what we can expect from Pokémon Go’s Sustainability Week 2024.

When is Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024? Start date and end time confirmed

Pokémon Go’s Sustainability Week 2024 started on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM and ends on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 8:00 PM local time.

This year’s event will last a shorter period than 2023, at two days, and won’t quite span a full week, so players will have to work extra hard to achieve everything the update has to offer.

But how do the objectives and rewards compare to last year? Read on for a full overview of this year’s Sustainability Week tasks and prizes.

What’s included in Pokémon Go Sustainability Week 2024? Research and rewards

As you might expect, there are a ton of new features in Pokémon Go’s Sustainability Week for 2024, as the game encourages players to leave the house and explore outside with their buddy Pokémon.

The event itself brings with it an increased chance that your buddy brings you souvenirs and gifts (which is always good) and they will earn hearts at half the distance when you walk around.

If you feed them berries or poffins, you’ll get them too spend more time on the game map.

Pokéstop Showcases are also available at various Pokéstops. You can enter Pokémon themed around the event into various competitions where they will be judged. It’s almost like Crufts for Pokémon.

Here is a list of other tasks and objectives, along with their rewards:

Encounters with field research tasks

  • Encounter with a Combee – Hatch an egg
  • Encounter with a Drilbur – Walk 2 km
  • Meeting with a Trubbish – Walk 1 km
  • Encounter with a Binacle – Catch 5 Pokémon
  • Meet a Foongus – Catch 10 Pokémon

An egg containing this Pokémon will hatch after an exploration of 2 km:

  • Binakel
  • Combe
  • Drilbur
  • Foongus
  • Trubish

According to a blog post on the game’s website, all of the above that hatch from an egg obtained during Sustainability Week 2024 have a higher chance of being a Shiny Pokémon.

Collecting Challenges

Both Drilbur and its evolution Excadrill are involved in this year’s fundraising challenges.

The former can be caught in the wild or via the field research task mentioned above, and Excadrill must be acquired through evolution. You simply use 50 Drilbur candies for this. Completing this goal will reward you with 10,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust.

Trubbish is a Poison-type Pokémon. Poké

Also available in this challenge is Trubbish and his evolution Garbodor. The collection tasks required are exactly the same as Drilbur and Excadrill.

So that’s everything you need to know for this year’s Sustainability Week. Now it’s best that you stop reading and get to work, because the clock is already ticking!
