The Aboitiz family steps up the infrastructure game with $24 billion in investments in estates, towers and regional airports

Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc., the infrastructure arm of Aboitiz Group, is embarking on a P24-billion expansion this year, targeting expansion in economic areas, telecommunications towers and regional airports.

A significant portion of the allocated funds will be spent on the expansion of existing economic estates, including the 540-hectare West Cebu Estate in Balamban and the 794-hectare LIMA Estate, a PEZA-registered zone in Lipa, Batangas. Both expansions are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

AIC, through its subsidiary Unity Digital, aims to complete the acquisition of telecommunications towers from Smart and Globe in the first half of 2024.

In addition, the company is seeking strategic tower acquisitions that complement its existing portfolio and provide co-location opportunities.

AIC has acquired initial proponent status for the upgrade, expansion, operation and maintenance of Laguindingan International Airport. This project seeks to strengthen connectivity within Northern Mindanao and may include the development of international flights, expanded capacity, adoption of sustainable practices and improved passenger experience.
