The upcoming 5th edition of the World Entrepreneurs Investment Forum (WEIF), with the theme ‘Achieving the SDGs by promoting innovation and economic growth’, will take place from May 14 to 16 this year.

The Chamber of Bahrain announced yesterday during a press conference at its headquarters that the event will take place under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

During the conference, Minister of Industry and Trade Abdulla Fakhro underlined Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable growth and the use of innovative solutions to address global challenges, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

He highlighted Bahrain’s historic prowess in innovation and urged entrepreneurs and businesses to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the conference.

Similarly, Sameer Nass, President of the Bahrain Chamber, affirmed that the Forum embodies the leadership’s commitment to entrepreneurship and investment, noting the supportive environment and programs put in place for sustainable development, which have positioned Bahrain as an innovation leader .

He emphasized the House’s joint efforts with the government to promote entrepreneurship and economic diversification.

The 5th edition of the forum will cover various topics aimed at boosting entrepreneurship and innovation across all sectors.

These include forging partnerships for Arab and African entrepreneurs, establishing enabling ecosystems for business innovation, and advocating sustainable practices such as financial inclusion and green technology.

In addition, it will explore the role of educational and research institutions in driving innovation, and empowering persons with disabilities to achieve economic autonomy.

Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs of the Arab League, and Dr. Hashim Hussein, Head of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Regional Office for Investment and Technology in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
